Anything for a Golden Ticket

Paula Abdul AI JudgeAmerican Idol will be returning to Fox soon enough. Currently the auditions are going on around the country. While not too much is being nationally publicized about the auditions at this point, there is one audition that is likely to be shown when they air the possible contestants along with the selection of off-key losers looking for three seconds of fame.

Antoria Gillon is a Dallas resident who was determined to be on American Idol. In fact, she was so determined that despite beginning intense contractions while in front of the judges, she continued along with her song. At some point, the judges asked Gillion if she was okay to continue. She spoke to USA Today about the incident saying, “I was singing and the judge stopped and asked if I was OK, and I said, ‘I just want to finish my song.’”

Even when Gillion was informed that an ambulance had arrived, she refused to get in and go to the hospital until she was able to get that golden ticket that would send her to Hollywood. Luckily for her, she got that golden ticket before going into full out labor (can you imagine Simon, Randy, & Paula delivering a baby?). Later that day, she had her son. Ironically enough, her son’s middle names is now Idol.
