E News is reporting that a valuable source is saying that HBO is canceling the new show John from Cincinnati. The show featured numerous bigger named stars like Rebecca De Mornay, Ed O’Neill, and Luke Perry amongst others. John from Cincinnati was written by David Milch, who was also the writer of another HBO series, Deadwood.
The season finale happened on Sunday and while they were planning, or at least hoping, for another season, apparently that won’t be in the cards for John and the rest of the crew. What does this mean for the cast?
Well that all depends on who you’re looking at. According to IMDB, David Milch does not have any projects currently listed. Rebecca De Mornay can be seen in the upcoming, American Venus, which is due out later this year or in early 2008. Meanwhile, Luke Perry is currently filming Alice, which also includes Penny Marshall.
Of the big names and regular players on the show, the winner seems to be Bruce Greenwood who has three films in the works including, I’m Not There, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and Bolt. He will be starring with such people as John Travolta, Woody Harrelson, Nicolas Cage, Helen Mirren, Jon Voight, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, and Cate Blanchett. Well, it looks like at least one of the cast members will be okay as the show ends. As for the rest, I am sure they will crop up somewhere else in the future.
