Benoit Relatives Concerned with Leftovers

Let’s imagine a scenario for a minute. You’re a doting grandparent who loves your grandchild very much. One day, the child is murdered, along with both parents, and one is the murderer who ends up committing suicide. What do you do?

Well, if you’re Nancy Benoit’s parents you jump into the legal ring to find out who gets the houses and money that are sitting there waiting for someone to claim them. However, now they are not the only family members that are trying to get a piece of the leftover pie.

Earlier in the summer wrestler, Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son and then he committed suicide. Now it’s necessary to find out who died first to determine where the money goes. Whoever died last will sway where the money goes. While Chris was technically the last to go for sure, laws actually consider him the first to die because of his crime. This ensures that his remaining family members cannot benefit in any way.

Chris Benoit’s father is seeking information on who died because the order of death will dictate whether Benoit’s surviving children get the money or whether Nancy’s family receives the remaining estate. It is currently believed that Nancy died first. If this is the case and Daniel (the couple’s son) died second, then the money would go to Daniel’s half siblings and Chris’ remaining children. However, if Daniel was first and Nancy came second, it is Nancy’s parents that will receive everything.

In the meantime, the results are out on the specifics of who Chris killed first and second, even though a timeline based on evidence was released saying the killings went in order of Nancy, Daniel, and Chris over the span of a few days. A hearing is set for August 28, though the order of death will not be released until the investigation is officially closed.

I think the parents and in-laws, along with Benoit’s children, should split the estate and finances 50/50. Rest In Peace to the innocent victims and families, and remember Chris Benoit for what he was, not what he did.
