Pete Doherty got Popped…Again

I know you’re thinking you’ve heard this one, but it’s new, I promise. Early Monday morning (Sunday night) Pete Doherty was picked up on suspicion of possession of drugs. According to a Metropolitan Police spokesman, Doherty was arrested in the Tower Hamlets area in East London in the early morning after finishing a weekend set at the V Festival. Other than confirmation of the arrest police would give no additional details.

Despite being held for this offense, Doherty is facing jail time for another offense where he was charged with possession, as well. During the first offense a judge had ordered him to receive an implant in his stomach to help him overcome his nasty heroin addiction. The District Judge, Davinder Lachlar will be making a decision next month as to whether Doherty has tried hard enough to kick the habit and whether he should go to jail or not. Of course, in light of recent events things aren’t looking too good for him.
