Thursday around 3:15 PM Pacific Time, a pregnant Nicole Richie was booked into the LA County Jail to serve her sentence. Richie who was accompanied by attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, and rocker boyfriend, Joel Madden was released on what was apparently good behavior, just 82 minutes later at 4:37 PM.

According to LA County Sheriff Deputy, Maribel Rizo, the time served was in accordance to her sentence and the federal court guidelines. During her booking and processing time, which likely took much of the hour, Richie was said to have a good demeanor and was cooperative, based on what reps had told The Insider.

Richie did her time, if she even saw a jail cell that is, in the same facility where gal pal, Paris Hilton did hard time for more than 21 days. Richie was sentenced to 90 hours, or around four days to the Century Regional Facility in Lynwood because she was caught driving under the influence.

If you’ve been waiting for a look at one of Brad Pitt’s new movies, a trailer was just released for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Starring Pitt as Jesse James and Casey Affleck as Robert Ford this is anything but your typical Western. The trailer offers a somber look at what appears to be another good Pitt movie.

This is just one of many new Pitt movies that are either ready to go, filming, or in the works. The other movies include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (which also stars daughter Shiloh in her first role), State of Play, Dirty Tricks, Chad Schmidt, and Dallas Buyer’s Club. Pitt is currently filming Burn After Reading with fellow stars George Clooney, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand.

Earlier it was reported that Lindsay Lohan has dodged every one of her felony convictions. Next it was reported by People that Lohan would serve a whopping 24 hours in jail for her misdemeanor DUI convictions.

You might be thinking that is not enough. However, D.A. Danette Meyer is saying that Lohan is not being treated any differently under the law. The law in California states a minimum of 4 days in jail. She will serve one and she is being credited for a day that she already was in jail (though I do not recall if she was in jail for an actual full day). The other two days are being converted to 10 days of community service, as everyone feels that would be more beneficial. She will also serve three years probation. She has until January 2008 to serve her one day jail sentence.

A few days ago we mentioned that it was reported that Lindsay Lohan was probably going to skirt by without any felonies from her DUI and cocaine possession arrests. TMZ was at the courthouse when the decision was announced. Instead of the felonies, which could have sent her to prison, she received seven misdemeanor counts.

Lindsay’s seven counts included two counts of driving under the influence, two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.08 percent, two counts of being under the influence of cocaine, and one count of reckless driving.

Apparently, several things worked in Lindsay’s factor. According to the D.A. there was not enough cocaine found to warrant a felony and the methods with which the cocaine was seized were questionable. Other things that helped Lindsay include a poor family upbringing, her age, the fact that she was busted so close together, and the fact that she checked into rehab immediately after being caught both times.

In a bit of drunken celebrity news, Mel Gibson has pleased the Judge dealing with his DUI case. Today’s hearing was a progress hearing so Mel was not expected to appear. Instead, he had his lawyer in attendance who handled things for him. Consequently, his lawyer is Blair Berk, who is also Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer (are we seeing a trend here?)

Berk submitted paperwork showing that Gibson has completed Alcoholic’s Anonymous meetings for the last 18 weeks. He has also paid all necessary fines. With this in mind, the judge has switched the AA meetings to voluntary status. Despite the ruling, Mel has another court date in February and will need to be present at that time.

News is everywhere about Lindsay Lohan these days. There is the average news about her cleaning toilets and drinking Gatorade while she seeks help in the Cirque Lodge in Utah and then there is the more disturbing news, which could get her into more trouble.

OK Magazine is reporting that an unidentified caller had a Lindsay sighting to report to Utah’s 97.1 FM on Wednesday morning. However, this caller wasn’t calling to talk about Lohan shopping for sunglasses or walking the dogs at the Lodge. This caller said that he spotted Lohan buying beer at a local store.

According to the caller, Lohan and a large man walked into a Maverik convenience store in Orem, Utah last night and proceeded to purchase some Miller Lite. Lohan was reportedly approached for autographs though she told the fans that now was not a good time. If it was her, I’m sure it wasn’t the right time.

The lovely Bridget Moynahan and the celebrity football giant, Tom Brady, welcomed a son into the world on August 22. The baby was born at 6:28 PM in a Santa Monica hospital. Other than that not many details have been released at this time.

Brady was reported as leaving training camp in Boston on Wednesday for LA. He was spotted with flowers at the time though there is no confirmation as to whether he actually made it in time to see his son born.

According to reps for the actress, momma and baby are doing just fine.

In a Manhattan Court, Judge Melissa Jackson, has sentenced Foxy Brown to serve three months in Riker’s Island prison for violating her probation. Brown will be in until her next hearing, which is set to take place on September 7. The judge sent Brown to jail based on recent incidents that had violated her probation stemming from assault charges.

Apparently, Brown was hit unaware by the results of the decision. It is being said that Brown’s attorney was not expecting jail time in this matter. During her time in court, Brown mentioned that she is three months pregnant and has plans of getting married. If this was meant to soften the blow of her violations, it didn’t. Brown was booked and sent with authorities who took her to Riker’s Island immediately after the court’s decision.

A whole host of celebrities have been subpoenaed for a racial profiling case that is going to occur in a Michigan Federal Court. The case, which is said to begin around September 22, has plenty of A-Listers heading to Detroit. The case was filed by Jerome Almon, who has a beef against Canadian officials.

According to TMZ, the reason for the beef is that Almon claims that Canadian officials look to black rappers as the cause for gangs and gun violence in Vancouver and Toronto. Almon claims that for this reason, black rappers are often held at the border. Almon is the CEO of MurderCap Records.

The list of celebrities include Oprah, Condie, Snoop Dogg, DMX, Eminem, Kobe Bryant, Paris Hilton, Tom Sizemore, Martha Stewart, Diddy, Jenna Jameson, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Heidi Fleiss, Spike Lee, and others. Almon let TMZ know that the white celebrities were called to show the hypocritical nature of the Canadian policies that are in place towards rappers.

First, Britney doesn’t understand the importance of seat belts and now Courteney and David don’t understand the importance of life jackets. Courteney and David Arquette, along with daughter Coco, were vacationing in Kauai, Hawaii. It doesn’t sound like there’s anything wrong with that, right?

Of course, there is nothing wrong with that. Vacationing isn’t against the law. However, having a child in a kayak without a life jacket is a sign of bad parenting, at least in that instance. Pictures have surfaced of the Arquette’s in a kayak with three year old Coco sitting in between Daddy’s legs. No one in the boat has on a lifejacket. According to Hawaii law, children 12 and under must wear a PFD.
