On Friday, police raided rapper DMX’s Phoenix home. In the raid, police uncovered numerous firearms and 12 distressed pit bulls, which were taken from the home. The rapper was not home during the raid. According to the sheriff’s department, the initial search warrant that allowed them to go into the home dealt with animal neglect. The police are unsure if the dogs were used for fighting or not though the neglect was apparent and is without question. The animals that were removed from the home are now in the care of the Sheriff’s Department.
Currently, no arrests have been made in conjunction with the raid. However, there are ongoing investigations that will determine in what if any charges will be brought up and who will face them. While this may seem out of the blue, animal cruelty charges are nothing new to the nearly 40 year old rapper. In 2002, he pleaded guilty in an animal cruelty case in New Jersey. In that case, he was charged with neglecting 13 pit bulls. Part of his sentence had him doing PSAs against animal abuse. Isn’t that ironic?
Reps for the rapper could not be reached for comment.

This is horrible, this guy had no right to own animals. You would think that he would have got a clue the first time that he was charged with animal cruelty! This guy is an idiot!!

maybe when he first got into trouble he shouldnt have been allowed to have animals again. because look what hes doing to our beautiful pits. another story in the making for those “mean, vicious” pitbulls, that animal lovers call their bestfriends. really, what is it going to take for these heartless men to get them to stop fighting and abuseing animals? they all need to put themselves in the dogs positions, would DMX like to be starved to death? would vick like to be biten bite after bite? no, i wouldnt think so. these men BOTH NEED JAIL TIME. and im not talking a month to a year, im talking YEARS. just because they are famous doesnt give them a right to abuse such loyal beautiful animals.
as far as im concered, all my DMX cds were put into a fire.
