Corey Haim and Corey Feldman were known in the 80s for the movies that they did together. Girls loved them and there movies were generally well watched. Then one day they fell off the planet. Now, thanks to reality television they are back, and 20 years later a sequel to The Lost Boys is in the works.
For awhile it was being questioned as to whether Corey Haim would even be invited to be in the flick, which revolves around a mother and her two sons that move to a new town and are surrounded by bloodsuckers. Once he was eventually asked and accepted things are still hanging in the balance because Haim has some sort of legal issue with leaving the country. Warner Bros is working things out to ensure that Haim can make it to Canada to film his part. Feldman is currently filming.
The script has been through several ideas, so it’s anyone’s guess if this 20 year old sequel will even be worth the film it’s placed on. The current storyline involves two young people that move to a new town to be closer to their relatives. Like in the original, they find themselves surrounded by bloodsuckers. Feldman says that the script stays incredibly true to the original, which should please fans. He also says that his character, Edgar Frog is remarkably similar. The only difference is that he will not be working with his family, as he had before.
Edgar is a loner now, despite the fact that his brother, played by Jamison Newlander will be back. These three actors are the only ones returning for their role. Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, and Jason Patric are not returning. However, you will have a chance to see Angus Sutherland, Kiefer’s brother in the second installment of The Lost Boys.
