Sanjaya is Heading to Hollywood

Thank God it’s not for a job. At least, not yet. The annoyingly loud and obnoxious Season 6, American Idol contestant, Sanjaya Malakar was known for a lot of things while on the show. He was known for his inability to hit the right note, his bad song choice, and his ability to make young (possibly mentally challenged) girls cry. Then, of course, there was his hair. He didn’t win, thank goodness, but he knocked a few more deserving folks off before he left. Now, Sanjaya is moving with his family to Hollywood and they are hoping to make a buck along the way.

Malakar’s parents are selling their five bedroom, one bathroom home for $360,000. The house was built in 1963 and has hardwood floors. From the sounds of it, the house would be going for a lot less if the annoying pseudo-star hadn’t lived there. The selling point is the fact that Malakar lived there, of course. The realtor, Dennis Fletcher is more than willing to use the possible celebrity of the teenage twit if it will help to sell the home. In fact, Fletcher told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that he’s dropped close to $3,000 on marketing the sale of the home and it just went on the market officially.

The marketing campaign includes an autographed picture of Sanjaya on the fliers and a song clip of Sanjaya on the website listing. I don’t know about you, but that’s enough to make me never buy a house from Fletcher. As for Malakar’s career, it is being said that he and his sister are working on an album. All I can say to that is look out Taylor Hicks. Your reign as the worst selling Idol is about to come to an end!
