Shaquille O’Neal filed divorce papers on Tuesday claiming that his marriage to his wife Shaunie is, “irretrievably broken.” The Miami Herald reports that the basketball player also accuses his current wife of being shady with his money. Together the couple have four children and they both have an additional child from previous relationships. They were married in 2002 and according to TMZ, Shaq made Shaunie sign a pre-nup, which isn’t a bad idea considering his contract with the Miami Heat is set to offer him $100 Million in cash.
O’Neal stated that his wife is secretive about her assets and wants to investigate all of the money that she came into during their marriage. When it comes to the kids, O’Neal wants them to live with their momma but is asking for liberal visitation rights.

I heard that Shaunie’s allowance was $35,000 a month. If that is true, then she should be able to spend her allowance any way she sees fit whether investing in stocks and bonds, buying diamonds and other fine jewelry, over priced designer clothes, shoes and handbags, vintage furs, cars or real estate. It’s Her allowance to do whatever the hell she wanted to do. She’s a smart woman to invest her money wisely and not buy a whole lot of nonsense. Shaq needs to get real. He just wanted out now he’s trying to make her look like she is dishonest. You go Shaunie!! Smart Lady.
That’s right girl, keep real. Whne a man, your husband gives you an allowance. You have every right to spend it however you want. Invest or blow. But I admire the fact that you invested your allowance. Even if you did sign a prenup. And while he’s on the court going from game to game doing his thang. You at home taking care of the kids and your home. Not to mention taking care of your man as well. So, I give you credit for being wise and smart. Invest it right and stay strong. Just because a little more money got spent out, that’s no reason to get an divorce unless the man himself just needed a way out. Just think about it, been married for 5 years and 4 children between those years. Most of the time during your marriage, ya’ll were busy making babies instead of enjoy each other. Don’t get me wrong, it’s ok to make babies but marriage couples need time, too. So, spending money is no reason to divorce each other unless there’s another reason other than money. The children need their parents. Especially when there are as many as you and Shaq have. No need for divorce unless the Shaq just need a way out to go elsewhere and problem babies somewhere else. Not wanting the responsibility of beimng a father 24/7. Just part-time and not full-time. Just keeping it real and telling it like I see it. I just don’t see you too getting divorce over money when I’ve seen you two in jet magazines and on television. Atlanta paper and so far. You are a great couple. So, why let money destroy a a marriage. Just material thing. Love and family conquers all. Shaq need to think about when he did not have his father to live with him 24/7. Stepfathers are o.k but not the same. That’s right! I read all about him especially when he was a Lakers players. So, I have the history on Shaq. I was listening to Foxhole on Sirius and the hearsay is that Shaq caught his wife with her personal trainer. A woman who signed a pre-nup, but had enough sense to invest monies allocated as her allowance in a wise fashion, just does not sound like the type of woman who would be caught in the act. She’s too smart for that. They appeared to be such a good couple, but do we know- we only see them interact for minutes of their life on MTV:) Whoever said she was was a “fool” should look a little further passed the surface. This lady sounds like she knew what she was doing. Most “celebrity” marriages end in divorce and she appeared to be stocking up for the inevitable. This lady has been spent most of this marriage pregnant and alone while her husband travels all around the world like a single man. Tis a shame, a young man who has the world at his feet at any early age. BR catered to him and then LA. Too much too soon for both of them and they hung in there a lot longer than most. I wish them both the best.
