Luciano Pavarotti passed away hours ago due pancreatic cancer. The Italian tenor, known for his magnificent voice, was diagnosed with one of the deadliest forms of cancer that have been identified. An Italian TV station reported that Pavarotti’s health was declining in recent days and that the singer was in extremely serious condition. Problems cited included kidney problems and inability to maintain consciousness.
The singer, who was sent home from the hospital on August 25 was said to lose consciousness for brief moments at a time though the news show that reported the news would not name any sources. While it was not known for sure that Pavarotti was indeed at home, information about his health was not able to be verified.
Pavarotti has not made any public appearances since his 2006 surgery though prior to that he was planning to finish out a farewell tour. His music and spirit will be missed.
