Foxy Brown had her sentencing hearing today and it did not go as well for her as she would have hoped. In fact, she will be spending a year in the slammer. The Judge, Melissa Jackson sentenced Brown because she felt that the rapper did not take her probation seriously and she wanted to treat her like she would any other defendant, celebrity or not.
Brown attempted to ask for another chance saying, “Being in jail humbled me in a way I never imagined. I realize that is not where I want to be.” The judge wasn’t hearing any of that though and sent her to jail, informing her that she had given her a chance previously and that chance had been squandered away.
All of Brown’s troubles began over a $20 manicure when she assaulted two nail stylists. Brown was ordered to probation and anger management, amongst other things. However, in August, Brown was accused of beating up a woman with her BlackBerry. She was put in jail pending a full hearing. At that time, she claimed that she was three months pregnant. However, at her sentencing this time, there was no mention of any baby. Additionally, Brown’s attorney, Ikiesha Al-Shabazz has stated that she was unaware that Brown was pregnant.
