Paris Hilton is suing Hallmark Cards because apparently the socialite that is known for nothing good is also unable to take a joke. She claims that Hallmark is using her likeness without her permission on a parody-style greeting card entitled “Paris’ First Day as a Waitress.”
I seriously don’t get why she’s whining. As someone who has been a waitress, I am certain that Paris couldn’t hack it. Well, maybe in one of those Chinese bars where they serve penis on plates, but that’s for another article entirely.
The lawsuit claims that they took Paris’ head and superimposed it over a cartoon of a waitress that is serving food to someone. The dialogue on the card reads:
“Don’t touch that, it’s hot.”
“What’s hot?”
“That’s hot”
Hilton is suing because she did not give permission for her image to be used and feels that her rights to privacy and publicity have been damaged. Again, I don’t see why she’s whining, I mean, it will be good for people to see Paris in a position where she looks like she’s actually doing something of worth. I imagine it does suck though to be placed on a card looking like you might be a commoner. That’s not hot. It’s rough.
Hallmark has released the following statement. “These cards take a satirical look at news and gossip surrounding … public figures, including Paris Hilton, and we do not believe Hallmark has violated any of Ms. Hilton’s rights.”
