Kanye West is Leaving MTV and Ain’t Never Coming Back!

Kanye WestShut him out once, shame on you…Shut him out again, still shame on you. What were you thinking MTV? Don’t you remember the last time that Kanye West went home empty handed? He had a fit. Well, not to be outdone by last year’s impromptu performance, West had another fit to show that he was not as gracious as Susan Lucci who lost at the Daytime Emmys every year for 18 years.

As West was waiting for an elevator, he lost it in front of a crowd of people in the hallway. You can’t blame him. After all, he was nominated for five categories and lost in every single one. It’d drive anyone to scream. So what did he say? Continue reading →

Dear Britney: A Letter from Your Friends at Gossip Giants

Britney FlopsDear Britney,

I have to say your performance at tonight’s VMA’s really left me flabbergasted. If it hadn’t been for the jiggling flesh on your thighs and your stomach I might have fallen asleep. Of course, I wouldn’t have been alone because you looked like you were about to, as well. Your moves were…well, to be honest, did you move? I saw a slight sway and maybe one hop, skip, or jump but I wasn’t sure if that was my television or if you realized that you were on stage and suddenly felt the groove.

I was saddened by the fact that you couldn’t remember the words to lip synch to your own song. Of course, my mother provided laughs when she came in saying, “Who the hell wrote that piece of crap. She just keeps saying the same damn word over and over again.” I tried to defend you Britney. I told her there were two words, GIMME MORE, but she still said it sucked. Alas, I guess you cannot please everyone. However, I am truly glad that you tried.

VMA Music Awards: Kid Rock and Tommy Lee Brawl at the VMAs

Kid RockThe Pamela Anderson ex-husband brigade, better known as Tommy Lee and Kid Rock, got in a little scuffle tonight at the VMAs. Sources from Access Hollywood claim that Tommy Lee was sitting with magician Criss Angel (though hopefully not as close as Criss sits with Britney). Together, the two men went to talk to Diddy, who was sitting near Kid Rock. When the two went to see Diddy, the source claims “all hell broke loose.”

At this point, it’s unknown why the two men got into a fight. However, as soon as it started, people gathered around the men and they were both soon escorted out. Criss Angel also ended up leaving (perhaps to lick Tommy Lee’s…wounds) though Angel was not escorted out. He left on his own.

VMA Music Awards: Closing Thoughts on the 2007 VMAs

Having watched and blogged about this year’s VMAs, I can say it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. However, you definitely couldn’t tell that from the first performance, Britney Spears. I guess that little rhyme in grade school is true “First is the Worst.”

She was awful. Her weave was atrocious, her cottage cheese thighs were gross, and her inability to lip synch her own song was the only thing that got me through. She almost reminds me of Axle Rose and how he used to keep getting drunk and screwing up the Grammys. Maybe MTV has learned their lesson and they won’t put her on next year, when she will be planning her “Super duper really good comeback”, sponsored by Doritos, no less.

The big winners were Justin Timberlake and Rihanna. I don’t think anyone was too shocked by that one. Best performance is really a toss up. The three best performances hands down went to Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, and the Timberlake, Timbaland, Furtado trio. All three performances were hot, hot, hot.

VMA Music Awards: Timberlake, Timbaland, and Nelly Furtado Close the VMAs

Justin TimberlakeThe final performance of the night was the newly blonde Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, and Justin Timberlake. While I wasn’t buying her hair at all, her body looked fine in her all black outfit. There were plenty of backup dancers prior to the men coming on stage. There was anticipation in waiting for them, but it didn’t take long for them to show up.

Timbaland came first and he rocked the mic, which is no surprise. He ended up one upping Nelly and making things even hotter for the next man on stage. Finally, it was time for the man himself, big winner, Justin Timberlake. As expected, Justin rocked the house. It seemed appropriate the train wreck Brit came first to leave a mess and Justin cleaned it up at the end.

VMA Music Awards: Rihanna Wins Video of the Year at the VMAs

RhiannaThe nominations for the best video were all completely new to me. I will admit that I do not normally watch videos. I like to blame MTV for that since they don’t really even play videos anymore. However, there is a category for best video and apparently people are still making them.

The songs/videos and artists nominated were:

Beyonce - “Irreplaceable”
Justice - “D.A.N.C.E.”
Rihanna f/ Jay-Z “Umbrella”
Justin Timberlake “What Goes Around…Comes Around”
Kanye West “Stronger”
Amy Winehouse “Rehab”

VMA Music Awards: Miss Teen South Carolina is “Such As” The Dildo

Miss Teen South CarolinaMiss Teen South Carolina appeared on the VMAs. I wish I could tell you what the hell she said, but the bitch does not speak English. She pretends to, but I swear I didn’t catch half of what she said. I think there was something in there about people not having cows, so they are vegetarian and such as need meat. There was something in there about The Pakistan, the Iraq, and the Wu-Tang Clan, too.

I know she was making fun of herself, but damn, she could have been less sincere and had someone write her lines for her. It’s too late for her to try and be smart. Besides, she needs to such as, like work on the diction problem she has so that such as people like me that are the normal people can understand the such as things that she like says.

VMA Music Awards: Gym Class Heroes Wins Best New Artist at VMAs

Gym Class HeroesThe nominations for the best new artist meant there was going to be a fierce competition. It’s easy to see why these people were chosen. I might have left a couple of these people out, but the majority of the group deserves the nominations they received. I have one or two that I was stuck between.

The artists nominated were:

Lily Allen
Gym Class Heroes
Peter Bjorn & John
Carrie Underwood
Amy Winehouse

VMA Music Awards: Alicia Keys Performs Very Well & Live on the VMAs

Alicia KeysWhile I don’t think I’ve ever heard the song, it was an amazing performance by Alicia Keys. It was also live (and yes, that’s a Britney diss, because hers was not so live). Keys was decked out with a “retro feeling” disco look including some glitter on her eye lashes. She looked great, which only complimented her fabulous performance.

The crowd loved the performance and her talent shined through on this one. Half way through the song, she flipped songs to “Freedom” and the backdrop opened to show a band and backup singers. Keys went over to the piano and ripped things up! She had everyone on their feet clapping and dancing. George Michael would have been proud.

VMA Music Awards: Pamela Anderson Helps to Slut Up the VMAs

Pamela AndersonPamela Anderson was only on the VMAs for a few minutes. She showed us that you don’t have to be young to be a dumb slut. You can be old, too. Way to go! She looked trashy and resembled what you will come to expect from Brit Brit in about 15-20 years if she is still alive. Okay, I will be fair. Anderson looked a tiny bit better than Britney.

Of course, I doubt anyone cared she was there. She babbled about sucking face with Kanye, opened his performance, and then she was…thankfully…gone. I can’t help but think she is trying to replace former blonde bimbo Anna Nicole Smith. Hey, didnt she have a thing for Kanye, too?

Pamela was disgustingly amusing for the few minutes she was there. The VMAs wouldn’t have been as slutty without her.

VMA Music Awards: Fergie Wins Best Female Artist at VMAs

FergieThe nominations for the best female artist featured one of the best competitions of the show. The female artists nominated were smokin’ hot this year. Sure, in some ways and with certain artists that might mean crack, but overall it was a musical compliment.

The artists nominated were:

Beyonce
Fergie
Nelly Furtado
Rihanna
Amy Winehouse

VMA Music Awards: Justin Timberlake Wins Best Male Artist at VMAs

JTThe nominations for the best male artist were decent. I cannot say I was surprised by any of the nominations. I have my favorites and was betting one of them would win. Overall the group was worthwhile when it came to the nominations they received. The artists nominated were:

Akon
Robin Thicke
TI
Justin Timberlake
Kanye West

VMA Music Awards: Chris Brown Heats Up the VMAs with Surprise Guest, Rihanna

Chris BrownThe song Chris Brown performed was “Wall to Wall” and it was hot. Brown and his backup dancers hopped from table to table. You could tell that he was tired by the time Rihanna came out with him in her slinky, sexy outfit to start “Umbrella”. From the sounds of it, Rihanna was singing live which is rare these days, so I have to give her props.

Brown is definitely a performer with his little Michael Jackson rendition towards the end. The crowd was moving and getting into the show. MTV should have been smart and had Brown and Rihanna open the show and left Britney at home with her vodka. This would have definitely set the show off on the right foot, rather than stubbing its toe, like she did.
