The nominations for the Earth Shattering Collaboration of the Year are all decent songs. This category was a little different for me because with this one I had a favorite. I was rooting for one group here, though I liked some of the other songs, as well. Coincidentally, my choice didn’t win.
Regardless, the artists nominated were:
Akon w/ Eminem – “Smack That”
Beyonce w/ Shakira – “Beautiful Liar”
Gwen Stefani w/ Akon – “The Sweet Escape”
Justin Timberlake w/ Timbaland – “Sexy Back”
U2 w/ Green Day – “The Saints are Coming”
The winner of the Earth Shattering Collaboration VMA is Beyonce and Shakira and a copy of the winning video is listed here for your viewing pleasure. Kanye and 50 presented this award because they are truly the earth shattering collaborators with their September 11 album releases. Beyonce looked great in a sexy gold dress, although some things looked like they might fall out! Shakira wasn’t there and Beyonce’s speech was short and sweet.
