This was a rough one as far as who I wanted to win. I haven’t seen all the shows, but like most people I definitely have my favorite actresses. Based on the performances that I did see I was really stuck between two performers in this race. My favorites are Sally Field and Edie Falco. Something tells me that Falco may be the one to walk away with this one, and if she does I couldn’t be happier. However, I am going to choose the perspective winner as Sally Field.
Brothers & Sisters • ABC • Sally Field as Nora Walker
The Closer • TNT • Kyra Sedgwick as Dep. Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit • NBC • Mariska Hargitay as Detective Olivia Benson
Medium • NBC • Patricia Arquette as Allison Dubois
The Riches • FX • Minnie Driver as Dahlia Malloy
The Sopranos • HBO • Edie Falco as Carmela Soprano
Winner: Sally Field
Thoughts: This was Sally Field’s third emmy. She thanked the whole cast of Brothers and Sisters. She looked great in a strapless, flowing gown with very little makeup. Sally won her first Emmy in the 70s for Sybil. She nominated the award to the mothers who wait for their children to come home..from War.

Um … excuse me, but, on FOX, she was cut off! “If mothers ran the world, there would be no …” And then FOX cut to a silent audience. WTF?
She was cut off because she went to say Goddamn - by the time they turned it off and on, she was finished. The God was heard, but they cut her immediately after, so I have to assume that was the word she was going for.
