Kiefer is a Drinker

TMZ is reporting that Kiefer Sutherland, the star of Fox’s hit 24 was recently popped for driving under the influence. According to TMZ, Sutherland was stopped after making an illegal U-turn. He was then arrested for misdemeanor DUI and was transported to the Hollywood Police Station.

Booking took place at 4:09 AM and Sutherland was released by 5:42 AM. He was charged with $25,000 bail, which was paid so that he could go on his way. Sources say that Sutherland was “cooperative and mellow” while in custody.

As this is the actor’s second DUI, if he is convicted he will need to serve at least five days in jail. Of course, if Sutherland receives the same treatment as the starlets that five days will equal 90 or so minutes.

Sutherland’s first offense was in 2004 when he was caught driving with a .22 blood alcohol level. At that point he pled no contest and was given five years of probation. That means that if convicted he will have also violated probation. The Judge in the original case was Michael Sauer. He is the judge that tossed the book at Paris Hilton. We will keep you updated on the status of this case to let you know if 24 will be interrupted for a jail sentence.
