Michelle Rodriguez Could do Jail Time

Michelle RodriguezFormer Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez has violated her probation (again). This time prosecutors are saying that she did not finish her community service and she did not complete an alcohol education program. Rodriguez was in court Friday to explain why she submitted a document claiming she had performed community service on the same day she later admitted that she was in NYC.

Rodriguez violated her probation in 2003 when she was caught driving drunk. At that time she was supposed to serve 30 days of community service among other punishments. If the actress is found guilty of violating probation, she could spend over a year in jail as punishment. More specifically, she could end up in jail for anywhere from 477 to 537 days and have to pay a $2,000 fine.

Attorney’s for Rodriguez said there was a clerical error in the paperwork. A hearing has been set for October 12 and has been ordered to do 30 days of road work after it came to light that she did not complete alcohol education. The judge also had problems with the fact that the actress did not take her probation more seriously saying, “I’m not impressed with your completion schedule. There were 55 people here in court today and all but very few have completed their responsibilities. They work on much less flexible schedules than you do.”

Rodriguez was given three years’ probation after pleading no contest to hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license and drunken driving in connection with two incidents that occurred in Hollywood in 2003. She violated terms of her probation after being arrested in Hawaii for drunken driving. On those charges she was given 60 days in jail, but served less than a day. As a consolation she was given community service and extended probation that lasts until June 2009.
