Tom’s Scientology Parenting Plan

Tom CruiseScientology is a funny cult religion. Not only does it cause people to build bunkers and to jump on couches prior to marrying Stepford aliens. Now apparently it causes you to want to segregate yourself and to parent in a very specific manner.

Take Tom Cruise for example. Tom believed that L. Ron Hubbard knew just what it takes to raise a child the Scientology way. Rather than breast milk or formula, Suri Cruise received the best possible Scientology diet around. The child’s diet consisted of barley water, milk, and corn syrup. Additionally, the child who has two nannies is only put in the direct presence of believers (minus her grandparents, who are actually Catholic).

Us Weekly has some spies that are in the Cruise Camp. The spy says that Tommy doesn’t like “associating with people who aren’t Scientologists.” The parents also have a problem saying “No” to little Suri because Hubbard says that being a parent is about being the child’s friend. Scientology members state that parents do not scold their kids. If the child does something wrong, the parent explains that whatever the child did was the “wrong action.”

A Cruise Pal tells Us:
“Suri pretty much does whatever she wants, whenever she wants. If she fusses before bed, they let her stay up later. If they want her to go swimming and she cries, they’ll take her out. If she whines about food, they’ll ask her what else she wants to eat. They always want to please her.”

Hmmm, interesting. This kind of sounds like the way my step-daughter started to raise her child. She is Catholic by the way. The child was picked up the instant she wimpered, she is not told no to anything, and now at the age of 7 has real behavior problems. Well I don’t know much about the scientology thing and have no desire to learn but after seeing Cruise jump on the furniture and then lecture on the treatment for depression, I will pass it up. I am interested to see how this marriage for Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes works out over time.
