Don’t Watch that Scene Mom

I can just see the recent talk that Marisa Tomei had with her parents.

“Mom, Dad…I know you’ve always been supportive of my career, but I am asking you not to see my new movie, Before the Devil Knows you’re Dead.”

“What?! Why can’t we see your new movie? We own them all, even My Cousin Vinnie.”

“Wow…this is hard to say. Well there is a scene in it that you don’t need to see.”

“Honey, we understand you’re acting. What could possibly be so bad?”

“To be honest, Phillip Seymour Hoffman bends me over and does me doggy style.”

After a long pause Mom and Dad agree not to watch.

Tomei spoke to her family letting them know that the scene was graphic and that she didn’t want them to watch it. Of course, she also admits that she doesn’t know that they would want to see it anyway. While she was initially nervous about handling such a scene, Sidney Lumet really made things easier on her.

Tomei Says:

“Having the Sidney factor balances it out; he’s a mensch. I felt even more comfortable than I did just acting fully clothed. I seem to tap into these kinds of women, the ones you call ‘slut’.”
