With so much Britney news to report each and every day I just didn’t have time to give an update on the Nick Hogan situation. The reality star of his father’s show, Hogan Knows Best, was finally arrested in relation to the August crash that sent his best friend, John, to the hospital, where he still remains in critical condition. All I have to say is, it’s about damn time!
E! News reported on November 7, 2007 that Nick Bollea (Hogan) has been arrested and charged on multiple counts including, ‘third-degree felony reckless driving involving serious bodily injury’, ‘illegal window tint’, ‘using a motor vehicle in commission of a felony’, and ‘being under the age of 21 and operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of 0.02 percent or higher’. Yes, folks, it’s true. Nick was intoxicated when the crash happened. That puts a whole new spin on the case now doesn’t it?
A warranted was issued after what police are saying was an “extensive” investigation (you think?!) into the crash and Bollea turned himself in at 9:48 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7. After being booked at the Pinellas County Jail, he made his $10,000 bail and was released. It has also been concluded that Nick was racing 22 year old Daniel Jacobs. Jacobs must also appear in court to face his own reckless driving charge.
According to E! the Bollea/Hogans made the following statement:
“Nick and the entire ‘Hogan’ Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007. Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena—a court of law. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can.”
Hogan is being charged and tried as an adult despite only being 17 in August. This is probably due to the outrage and outpouring of support over the condition of Iraqi war veteran and Marine, John Graziano, Nick’s 22year old passenger who is still in the hospital, still in a coma nearly three months after the crash. Though there is no conclusive proof, Graziano may have suffered from brain damage. The message his family is trying to get across during this very trying time is to ‘always wear a seatbelt’. John wasn’t wearing one and he may not have suffered from as many injuries had he been wearing one in the first place.
Nick didn’t get out of the accident unscathed. While his injuries were not nearly as bad as John’s he did end up breaking numerous ribs and his arm, an injury to his knee, and an injury to his neck. He’s lucky he got out with such little damage. If you had seen the car, you’d know why Nick was so lucky, and why John is in the condition he is in. He was treated and kept at the hospital overnight, for observation.
The investigation, which was completed by four of Clearwater, FL’s finest officers concluded that Nick was driving his yellow sports car (a Toyota supra) at 60 mph, which is 20 mph over the legal driving limit. The roads were wet due to a recent rain shower. This may have contributed to the accident, which sent the Supra careening out of control from a four lane highway and into a palm tree that stands 25 feet. While the Hogans agree the road was slippery, they still deny and support the claim that Nick was not speeding.
In their statement, E! reports they said:
“There has been much speculation as to the wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident. The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his. Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt.”
Isn’t that nice? Their son nearly kills a man and all they can do is point out the fact that he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Great moral message. Nick might have crashed, but it was John’s fault he got hurt so bad, right? I can only hope that Nick sees time in jail. Maybe then he’ll learn his lesson.

what the hell is wrong with you people john’s own family is saying that it was a accident no matter the circumstances it is a tragic event and all anyone can say is let’s put nick in jail what the hell is wrong with the world don’t you think he feels horrible about this accident i know how he feels i have been through the same thing and it is hard to know how to act or what to say because it makes you feel like everything is the wrong thing to do this world is sick to want more suffering in this situation so stop acting like nick lured his best friend, returned marine from Iraq to his car and set out to kill him like it was a plan cause it was not so be human about this i am sick of the marine card being used as a tool to outrage the public we are very thankful john fought for our freedom but it has nothing to do with this accident that is why it is called a accident in the first place idiots now nick has to fight this in court while still worrying about his best friend and his parents divorcing and Linda trying to totally take advantage of hulk because he loves her so much i bet he would of gave her what ever she wanted until she had to make a big public deal about it like she is trying to use it to promote herself in the media this is too hulk and nick hang in there and remember your faith things will get better to Linda i hope you realize that any relationship can be fixed if your willing to work at it you know that terry loves you do you remember the letter he read to you in front of the whole world showing you how much you mean to him you are one of three people who could ever make the hulk man cry and show you he really loves you look what he has given you in life and you act like poor you cause you had to wait for him while he was gone working alot that destroyed his body physically to make a good living for your kids and this is how you repay him and support your marriage and vow you made to him you really need to find god in your life Linda i have a whole new idea of the type of person you are i thought you were more humble than this and most of all the poor kids which you must not care about right now you do this when your son needs stability in his life the most there are kids out there who don’t have what you people have and now the thing that is most important you are throwing away and that is FAMILY working through things together through think and thin sickness and in health till death do you part Linda poor nick and Brooke i hope you stay on track with your lives and do not take after your mother when you get older and get married plan on never giving up on it no matter what before saying i do don’t let this change your views on marriage even though Linda looks like everything she has taught you two to be has been for nothing now that she has decided to be what she told you both not to be i hope she is a good mom to the both of you in this selfish period in her life where she feel obligated to go do whatever she needs to do like she said in the episode where they went to therapy ” don’t you ever feel like you need to do something and if you don’t do it now when will you have time to go do things for yourself that you want to do i am not getting any younger” then hulk who i guess is the only logic ones said that sounds selfish cause he always thinks about us meaning the whole family this just blows my mind
This is the sad Fact of disfuctional rich idoits who think they are above God. Sometimes money can’t buy or replace lives, no matter how hard EGOTISTICAL PEOPLE think they can get away with everything. Maybe this will make the kid realize he is not above the law and his family cannot buy a life. So Sad!!
Having being in a very serious car crash myself that left me with a shattered skull to mention just one of the injurys I think it is amazing that Nick had such minor damage - even more so when the car hit the tree on his side. There for John almost certainly wasn’t wearing his seatbelt.
I wouldn’t wish even a minor car crash on anyone and I sure Nick must be feeling fairly bad about it. I was lucky that I was the only person hurt when I crashed as hurting anybody else would be the worst possible thing in my eyes. So even though Nick might see himself as a bit of a player you can be fairly sure his not feeling too good about it.
The best thing people can do is just give everybody involved some space as they have enough going on as it is without having to worry about reporters looking for a bit of gossip to bable on with - regardless of how much of it is based on facts or who it hurts/offends.
I say just use this as a reminder to becareful on the roads as there are way too many deaths as it is and just leave everyone else involved alone.

Its a sad thing that has happend but the author of this artical is out of line. P.O.S. You need to think about it. Are you perfect? You have never gone over the speed limit? Youve never broken a law. No one is perfect. I beleive that Nick and the Hogan family are very upset with the accident and wish that John wasnt in the condition he is in, but he was the elder in the car. He couldve gotten out or wait he couldve not even got in the car if nick was drinking…Not to be talking negative on him but it is the cold hard fact. I am sure that both parties are going though a lot and they dont need to read articles like this one. The author is out of line and quite frankly in my mind a piece or trash. He or she should Go play in traffic
