Emmy Awards: Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series - Ricky Gervais

Ricky GervaisI am not a huge comedy watcher when it comes to sitcoms. That being said I am familiar with most of these actors. When it comes to these shows, I have absolutely no clue what is good and what’s not. However, I have to assume they are at least okay if they are up for an award. As I haven’t seen any of the shows I am gonna put in a guess for my projected winner this time. My projected pick is Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock.

Extras • HBO • Ricky Gervais as Andy Millman
Monk • USA • Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk
The Office • NBC • Steve Carell as Michael Scott
30 Rock • NBC • Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy
Two And A Half Men • CBS • Charlie Sheen as Charlie Harper

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series - John Goodman

John GoodmanI like the majority of actors on this list, but there is just one that I am seriously rooting for. This one is actually pretty surprising since I do not watch the show. The actor I am picking is David Morse. I didn’t see the episode of House he was on, but I’ve seen him act in a lot of movies and that’s enough for me.

Boston Legal • ABC • Christian Clemenson as Jerry “Hands” Espenson
ER • NBC • Forest Whitaker as Curtis Ames
House • Fox • David Morse as Michael Tritter
The Sopranos • HBO • Tim Daly as J.T. Dolan
Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip • NBC • John G Continue reading →

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series - Stanley Tucci

Stanley TucciThis is a good race, but we’re looking at a comedy race so I am more familiar with the actors on their own as opposed to who they played in these shows. That being said I will just blindly pick my favorite and go with that. My pick is going to be Giovanni Ribisi.

Entourage • HBO • Martin Landau as Bob Ryan
Extras • HBO • Sir Ian McKellen as Himself
Monk • USA • Stanley Tucci as David Ruskin
My Name Is Earl • NBC • Giovanni Ribisi as Ralph Mariano
My Name is Earl • NBC • Beau Bridges as Carl Hickey

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Series - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Jon StewartThere is only one show on this list that nearly everyone in my house watches on a regular basis. My pick for this one is Real Time with Bill Maher.

The Colbert Report • Comedy Central •
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart • Comedy Central • Late Night With Conan O’Brien • NBC •
Late Show With David Letterman • CBS •
Real Time With Bill Maher • HBO •

Winner: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Thoughts: John sauntered up to the stage while waiting for the rest of the crew to get up there. John and cast looked great. He was funny, as to be expected. I was slightly bummed that Bill missed out, but I am glad that Jon Stewart won this one. He thanked everyone and Comedy Central.

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie - Robert Duvall

Robert DuvallThis one is going to be a guess for me. While I have had the pleasure of seeing all of these actors in other productions, I have yet to see any of these miniseries or movies. Based on the talent and the plots that are available here, I am going to go with my heart on this one and give it to William H. Macy who played Clyde Umney & Sam Landry on Nightmares & Dreamscapes.

Broken Trail • AMC • Robert Duvall as Prentice “Print” Ritter
Jesse Stone: Sea Change • CBS • Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone
Longford • HBO • Jim Broadbent as Lord Longford
Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From The Stories Of Stephen King • Umney’s Last Case • TNT •
William H. Macy as Clyde Umney & Sam Landry
The Ron Clark Story • TNT • Matthew Perry as Ron Clark

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Miniseries or a Movie - Thomas Haden Church

Thomas Haden ChurchI didn’t have a chance to catch any of these shows when they were on television so I don’t really have too much to say about them. I am gonna guess the winner will be Aidan Quinn, but only because I am a huge fan and because there are two nominees for Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee so it must have been fairly decent.

Broken Trail • AMC • Thomas Haden Church as Tom Harte
Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee • HBO • August Schellenberg as Sitting Bull
Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee • HBO • Aidan Quinn as Senator Dawes
The Christmas Card • Hallmark • Edward Asner as Luke Spelman
The Starter Wife • USA • Joe Mantegna as Lou Manahan

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series - Terry O’Quinn

Terry O'QuinnThis is another good race for supporting actor in a drama series. Due to real life drama I am thinking that TR Knight might just nab this one. However, if you are going on quality, entertainment, and one hell of a performance this one should go to Michael Imperioli for his portrayal of Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos.

Boston Legal • ABC • William Shatner as Denny Crane
Grey’s Anatomy • ABC • T.R. Knight as George
Heroes • NBC • Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura
Lost • ABC • Michael Emerson as Ben
Lost • ABC • Terry O’Quinn as John Locke
The Sopranos • HBO • Michael Imperioli as Christopher Moltisanti

Emmy Awards: Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series - Jeremy Piven

Jeremy PivenI really haven’t had a chance to see any of these shows. I suppose that means I need to watch sitcoms a little bit more. Of what I have seen from previews and things I would hope that Jon Cryer picks up the win though I think it might end up going to Kevin Dillon.

Entourage • HBO • Kevin Dillon as Johnny Drama
Entourage • HBO • Jeremy Piven as Ari Gold
How I Met Your Mother • CBS • Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson
The Office • NBC • Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute
Two And A Half Men • CBS • Jon Cryer as Alan Harper

Has Robert Downey Jr Lost His Mind?

Robert Downey Jr.Alright, seriously. Someone tell me that he’s flipped his lid. This new hair style is for a movie role right? If not, he needs to just pull a Britney, shave that shit, and get himself a nice carpet bagger weave.

What happened to the good ol’ days when Downey shot up, had normal hair, and played in amazing movies? Man, this aging, clean image, color blind when it comes to hair thing really sucks for him.

Angelina Jolie Speaks with Gala Magazine

Angelina Jolie spoke to Gala Magazine recently and she had a lot to say about Brad Pitt, their commitment to one another, and their family of beautiful children.

On the Breakup Rumors:

“These rumours don’t affect you if you don’t pay attention to them. Brad is the first man to understand me and give the impression we are a team. Honesty and trust are fundamental. He shares my point of view.”

On More Children:

“Brad knows I want more children and it is his own desire to be at the head of a big family. He loves spending time with Mad, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh. I can always count on him to look after the children. I’d never live with a man who considers the education of his children as a burden. It is not an issue. One of us spontaneously offers aid to the other.”

Daniel Radcliffe Says He Lacks Skill in the Bedroom

Dan RadcliffeRadcliffe might be the best Harry Potter ever and you might think he’s an awesome wizard. However, according to Radcliffe he’s not sexy when it comes to being in the sack. The young actor did not mention if it was because he lacked skill or he just doesn’t have enough practice/experience.

However, at the premiere for his new movie December Boys, Radcliffe who is just 18 spoke about a sex scene he has in the movie with Teresa Palmer, 21. While he was discussing the movie he warns viewers to be prepared, “It’s probably the least sexy scene ever.”

ER Star Dealing with Croatian Paternity Suit

Goran VisnjicGoran Visnjic plays Luka Kovac on the NBC drama E.R. However, in real life he has a little drama going on, as well. It seems that the married star, who just adopted a four month old baby, might have another baby out there, too. A Croatian woman, Mirela Rupic, is claiming that Visnjic impregnated her in the summer of 2006. The couple was not, nor have they ever, been a couple. The event of conception was the result of a one night stand.

Visnjic has been married since 1999. He does not deny that the incident could have happened. However, he does claim that he was jet lagged from the flight and drunk so he doesn’t remember what, if anything, occurred that night.
