Upcoming Movie: Beowulf Trailer

Admittedly, like most people I was intrigued by the idea of seeing Angelina Jolie emerge from a lake covered in dripping gold and absolutely nothing else. So, I clicked, like I am sure many others will. However, the trailer looks pretty decent. If you are into the whole fantasy, CGI-effects thing you will love this movie. If you’re not, well, you still get to see Angelina Jolie naked and dripping with gold. So, either way there is something for everyone.

Radcliffe is Nervous about being Naked in New York

Daniel RadcliffeNow that Harry Potter is all grown up he does much more than practice wizardry in films that may or may not be worth watching. Recently, Daniel Radcliffe received critical acclaim for performing on the London stage in the play, Equus, where he dropped his clothes and picked up the role of a tortured teen. Despite the bothersome results, when the media reported little Harry would be naked, ticket sales went wild, reaching $4 million in advanced sales.

Even with the big success, Radcliffe is nervous of the idea that the play is going to be done in New York, as well. The reason, which he told to Reuters, is that he feels that New York audiences can be shrewder than London audiences.

The Goonies: An Animated Series or Live Action Sequel

Corey Feldman Every child of the 80s is familiar with The Goonies. It was one of the classic (if not the most classic) movies that Corey Feldman starred in. He even starred in it without Corey Haim. Fans were not the only ones to love this movie. Even the filmmakers loved the premise. Everyone has been itching for a sequel, but 22 years later there is nothing to show for the interest.

Feldman was talking to MTV about sequel ideas that have passed through the pipeline to bring The Goonies back. One idea had his character as a Vegas shyster known as “The Mouth” and another sequel placed him as a trial lawyer. Feldman’s favorite option so far included the following idea.

“All of us were now grown up, and have our own kids. And those kids get into some trouble and end up stumbling across some link to our past. They discover who we really are and what we went through. And, simultaneously, the Fratelli brothers find out that the kids have found out – so they’re out to get the kids and the kids are out to save their lives and their families.”

Emma Watson to Play another School Girl

Emma WatsonEveryone’s favorite muggle, (that’s what they are called right?) Hermione Granger is played in real life by Emma Watson. This summer, Watson had plans to take off work and just enjoy her time as a 17 year old. However, those plans all changed when she discovered her new role as a school girl in the upcoming movie, Ballet Shoes, where she will play Pauline.

On her website, Emma says, “I really thought I was going to take the summer off…and then I fell in love with Ballet Shoes. I loved Pauline from the start. She makes mistakes and comes across badly at times, but I really felt as though I understood her. The cast is amazing and I can’t wait to work with everyone.”

Travolta lacks Cell Phone Etiquette

John TravoltaIf there is anything that most people can agree is annoying in life, it is people that do not turn off their cell phones in a movie theater. Apparently, John Travolta is one of those people. At least, when it comes to movies he’s not in, anyway. Page Six is reporting that while at his wife, Kelly Preston’s new movie premiere, Death Sentence, Travolta did not turn off his cell phone.

Audience members were less than thrilled. One member of the audience spoke to Page Six and said, “Travolta’s cell phone rang right as the film started. Twice. It was really loud, and a few people were harshly hushing.”

Nicolas Cage is Magnum P.I.

Nicholas CageFirst, I need to ask when the movie industry became so desperate to make a buck that they had to continue going to old television shows to make movies. Have we learned nothing from Dukes of Hazzard or the impending Dallas debacle? Apparently, we haven’t (we as in Hollywood that is) because rumor has it that Nicolas Cage is set to play the Tom Selleck part in Magnum P.I.

This means that Cage would play the role of Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV. According to reports, Selleck won’t be back because he is too old to play the role. While that is true, whether Cage will actually take on the role remains to be seen. It’s been listed that he’s only in talks, thus far, and his name is not actually attached to the picture. However, if he does decide to take on the role, I can’t help but wonder if he will be sporting a god awful mustache like the days of Magnum in the 80s.

Movie News: Dallas Set to Suck

John TravoltaWhat do you call a movie that is on its third director and has had a bunch of big name stars attached and then quit before the movie is anywhere near finished? Why, Dallas, of course. Now that the latest director, Gurinder Chadha has quit, it looks like Betty Thomas will be handling the project. If you are not familiar with the name, Thomas was the director for The Brady Bunch.

As for attached stars, Dallas once had Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez, Shirley Maclaine, Meg Ryan, Luke Wilson, and John Travolta were all once set to star in the flick. Currently, John Travolta is the only one still attached with plans of playing JR Ewing. To add fear to Dallas lovers everywhere, an additional screenwriter has been added to the pot. Pam Brady, known for her work on Hot Rod and Team America: World Police will be working on the project.

John Singleton Strikes a Woman with Car

John SingletonIn what appears to have been an accident, director John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, Shaft) struck a jaywalker who strolled in front of his Lexus SUV on Friday. Singleton was a model citizen during the entire event. He stopped and waited for police to arrive, identified himself, and answered questions.

Officers at the scene determined that he was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. After questioning, Singleton was released. The woman jaywalking, Constance Russell, was pronounced dead that same morning.

No other details have been released though our thoughts are with him and his family during this trying time.

New Jesse James Trailer Starring Brad Pitt

Brad PittIf you’ve been waiting for a look at one of Brad Pitt’s new movies, a trailer was just released for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Starring Pitt as Jesse James and Casey Affleck as Robert Ford this is anything but your typical Western. The trailer offers a somber look at what appears to be another good Pitt movie.

This is just one of many new Pitt movies that are either ready to go, filming, or in the works. The other movies include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (which also stars daughter Shiloh in her first role), State of Play, Dirty Tricks, Chad Schmidt, and Dallas Buyer’s Club. Pitt is currently filming Burn After Reading with fellow stars George Clooney, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand.

Katherine McPhee and the Baby Bump

Kat McPheeThe Season Five American Idol runner up may have a lukewarm music career, but now she’s adding acting to her résumé. She is currently filming a role where she plays a pregnant sorority girl along with actresses Anna Faris and Rumer Willis, in the movie House Bunny.

McPhee sports a highly exaggerated baby bump that makes her look about 8 months pregnant. In the movie, McPhee is unmarried and pregnant. Whether McPhee’s acting will be good or not remains to be seen at this point though with Anna Faris the movie has hope of offering plenty of laughs.

Lately, Katherine has been photographed a lot lately doing everything from squee-geeing the baby bump or having a backside pose when some pics where taken of her dress flying up. The backside pic was a bit of a surprise though. McPhee admits that she didn’t even know about the picture until she saw it online.

Eleven Hurt as they Fall from Moving Truck on Cruise Movie Set

Tom CruiseThe movie Valkyrie is being filmed in Germany. Recently much press has been given to this film because of the Germans skeptical view of Scientologists like Tom Cruise. However, this has nothing to do with the Germans and Tom Cruise. This does have something to do with the movie set Cruise is on though. Apparently eleven people were injured after falling off the back of a moving truck.

The eleven men fell because a side panel shot open as the truck went around a corner on Sunday evening. One of the people was seriously injured. The incident has caused filming to break for the time being.

The Nines Trailer & Synopsis

The Nines Box ArtThe Nines, a new movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Elle Fanning consists of three short films. The one thing that each film has in common is that each film features the same actors in different and sometimes overlapping, roles.

“The Prisoner” tells the story of a troubled television star (Ryan Reynolds) who finds himself under house arrest. His chipper publicist (Melissa McCarthy) and a disillusioned next-door neighbor (Hope Davis) are his only links to the outside world. Mysterious events lead him to question whether one or both women are deceiving him about the nature of his incarceration.

“Reality Television” is a half-hour episode of “Behind the Screen,” a Project Greenlight-style documentary series that tracks the process of creating a network television drama. Having shot the pilot, creator Gavin Taylor (also Ryan Reynolds) faces post-production with the help of his best friend (and lead actress) Melissa McCarthy and development VP Susan Howard (Hope Davis).
